Buccs take 3rd place but as with everything there are positives to be taken
The St. Peters Pumas, Chorley Buccaneers and Salford Storm took part in a tournament at St. Peters School in Wigan on the 21st April 2001
1st game: Buccs-Pumas
The Pumas went 3-0 over the Buccs on the year by smashing 26 points onto the scoreboard compared to the Buccaneers nothing. The well-drilled Pumas offense proved too much for the Buccs defense while the offense struggled to get moving.
Result: 26-0 to the Pumas

2nd game:Pumas-Storm
New kids on the block surprised the Pumas by getting onto the board first with a 6-0 scoreline early on. The experience of the Pumas shone through what was a fantastic Storm debut to score another 26 points to take the tournament.
Result: 26-6 to the Pumas

3rd game:Storm-Buccs
The battle for 2nd place was left to the Storm and Buccs but the fast offense of the Storm proved too much for the Buccs defense to cope with. The Storm notched up 13 points in the 1st half and a further 6 before the Buccs got there first points of the day with a touchdown pass from David Mead to James Mather. But it was too late by that time and the Buccs let another touchdown in on a 5-man blitz play to create the final scoreline.
Result: 26-6 to the Storm

The Buccaneers will take a week off this Saturday to reflect and get ready for more training. Ten-Pin Bowling in Preston for the team's first ever social is the order of the day for this Saturday. The only way is up!
